BRINGING BETHANY TO THE COMMUNITY
Blood Drive

In conjunction with Heartland Blood Centers, this is a semi-annual blood drive event.

College Care Project

This project reaches out to our new college freshman with a little gift of support from their Bethany Lutheran Church family.  A gift card to a local sub shop is always appreciated!

Community Harvest

During Thanksgiving, we collect Thanksgiving dinner items or monetary donations to pack Thanksgiving dinner ingredients for families in the area.

Family Christmas Project

Monetary donations assist families in need at this special time of the year. These funds are generally matched by Thrivent. The Social Action Team, together with other volunteers, shop, wrap and prepare and deliver gifts to families in our area.

Food Pantry

Bethany volunteers stock and sort food and personal items at the local Crystal Lake Food Pantry site on a monthly rotational basis with the other churches. Members also participate in various events throughout the year to collect items for the Food Pantry.

Good Samaritan

Bethany, together with other churches, provides emergency financial funding to assist people in need in our community. The program is located at our church in Room L-6. The ministry operates Monday and Friday from 9-11 AM by appointment. To make an appointment or to learn more, call 815-477-2489.

Habitat for Humanity

Volunteer time from 8 AM - 4 PM on a Saturday to work on a local home under construction as part of this outreach.

Sheltered Village

Sheltered Village is a home in Woodstock for developmentally disabled adults. Bethany reaches out monthly to bring them cookies and treats and play games. At Christmas time, we gather together for a Christmas party and bring donated items from each resident's wish list - all wrapped and ready to delight.
