Bethany was thrilled to be part of the 2025 Northern Illinois Synod Assembly, a meaningful gathering centered around the theme “Growing Disciples.” Held with great energy and purpose, the assembly brought together churches from across the region to reflect, learn, and discern our shared calling in Christ.
One of the most significant moments of the assembly was the resounding vote to become a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Synod, a bold and hopeful step toward greater inclusion and welcome for all of God’s people. This decision reflects a growing commitment across our Synod to create communities where everyone is embraced and celebrated.
Bethany’s attendees had the opportunity to connect with other congregations, share ideas, and hear powerful stories of ministry happening throughout Northern Illinois.
As we return home, we bring with us new connections, renewed purpose, and a deeper commitment to growing as disciples, together.
