This year’s Lenten season at Bethany Lutheran Church was marked by deep reflection, meaningful connection, and joyful celebration. From the waving of palms on Palm Sunday to the triumphant proclamation of resurrection on Easter morning, our community journeyed together through a season rich with worship, music, and shared experiences.
Our Lenten gatherings began with the intergenerational Pancake Breakfast, setting the tone for a season grounded in hospitality and fellowship. Throughout the weeks that followed, Wednesday Soup Suppers provided a welcoming space for connection and conversation. We are especially grateful to all who brought soups, bread, desserts, and other dishes that made these evenings of community so warm and meaningful.
Holy Week brought especially powerful moments. Maundy Thursday invited us into a joyful evening of supper, worship, and Holy Communion, where we also celebrated the First Communion of some of our youngest members. On Good Friday, we paused in reverence and reflection through a powerful Tenebrae service. Then, on Easter Sunday, the sanctuary came alive with music, celebration, and the joyful reminder that love is stronger than death.
This beautiful season would not have been possible without the dedication and care of so many. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who gave their time and gifts—those who created the stunning visual liturgy that guided us through the season, the AV team who ensured every moment was seen and heard, the musicians, choir, bells, brass, and musical leaders who lifted our spirits in song, and the many worship volunteers who made each service welcoming and meaningful. We are grateful for those who read, ushered, prepared and assisted with communion, and served as Assisting Ministers, as well as those who prepared and served coffee and snacks during fellowship hour, creating space for continued connection and community.
It’s amazing how well this community provides care for one another. As we move forward into the Easter season, we carry with us the memories of this meaningful Lenten journey and the strength of a community that continues to show up for one another in faith, service, and love.
