In Holy Baptism Christ takes ordinary water and combines it with the Word to give us new birth and make us members of the church of God.  We receive the gift of Christ’s presence – he is present in the Word at our Baptism and continues with us forever.  We do not have a full understanding of this – that is beyond human ability.  Approached in faith, however, the sacrament continues to sustain us and reveal its blessings and meaning throughout our lives.  In baptism we are “…marked with the cross of Christ forever.”

This sacrament is gladly offered for you and your family at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We have baptism every Sunday, except for Festival Sundays, at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. 

In a one session, one-hour class, you will learn more about the promises baptism holds for your child, the promises you make for your child, and ways to help your children understand themselves a baptized children of God.
